  • Clachnacuddin FC were founded in 1885 and are nicknamed 'The Lilywhites' (due to their white strip) or 'Clach'. Their name is Scot's Gaelic and means 'The Stone of the Tubs', referring to a city landmark where woman of long ago were rumoured to rest their washing carriers on the way back from the river.

    The first team are a semi-professional senior football team who currently play in Scotland's Highland Football League. They have won the most League championships in the competition's history, a total of 18 times overall. Their home ground is Grant Street Park in the city's Merkinch area. Clach also have a very good youth system with many teams ranging from the primary squads to the under 19s.
